The British Museum offers the chance to discover
objects from the Museum's collection, including an anniversary
handling collection available in the Reading Room. Touch ancient
Greek pottery and coins, try on a Roman ring, grapple with an
astrolabe or investigate unusual forms of money. Suitable for
children and adults. Facilitated by
volunteers of The British Museum Friends and supported by
the Abbey National Charitable Trust.
The historic Reading Room is now home to the
Walter and Leonore Annenberg Centre. Open to Museum visitors
from 10.00 every day, it contains the Paul Hamlyn Library and
COMPASS, an interactive multimedia database of the
collections. Everyone is welcome to come in and find out more
about the objects and cultures represented in The British
Museum.

all visitors.
